Addressing young players and officials, he stressed that success in cricket depends on collective effort. No individual can win a match alone. Instead, every player contributes to the team’s success.

The Chief Minister also highlighted cricket’s role in strengthening national integration. He said that when Indian teams compete, people from different religions, languages, and communities unite behind a common identity.

“Cricket creates a sense of national pride and reminds us that we are all Indians first,” he remarked.

Dr. Saha expressed confidence in the sporting talent available in Tripura. He said the state has produced several promising athletes and cricketers over the years.

He acknowledged that many talented players often struggle to get opportunities. However, he believes that continued investment in training and infrastructure will change the situation.

The Chief Minister praised the efforts of the Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) in creating a stronger ecosystem for cricket. He emphasized the need for proper coaching, monitoring, and player development.

According to him, regular training and accountability among coaches can help produce more national-level cricketers from Tripura.

Cricket Academy and Stadium Projects Gain Momentum

Dr. Saha revealed that plans for a dedicated cricket academy have moved forward significantly. Authorities have already identified land for the proposed academy.

He also stated that the state government has directed the Revenue Department to assist with the project.

The Chief Minister further informed that he recently raised the issue of accelerating work on the under-construction cricket stadium during meetings in New Delhi.

He said he regularly monitors the stadium project and remains committed to ensuring its timely completion.
