Agartala: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said cricket has emerged as one of the most popular sports in India. According to him, the game develops much more than physical fitness. It teaches punctuality, discipline, leadership, and teamwork.

Under the initiative, SBI sponsored 100 junior cricket kit bags and sports equipment sets. TCA added eight more kits, bringing the total number to 108.

He said Tripura has developed around nine synthetic football turf grounds over the last eight years. Additional facilities are under construction in tribal and rural areas.
