He also announced that the party would organise a large public gathering at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala during September in connection with the upcoming state conference of the All India Krishak Sabha.

During the press conference, Chaudhury also reiterated the party’s demand for a judicial inquiry into the death of Tripura Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Dhankar.
He said the CPIM has no confidence in the ongoing police investigation and would approach Governor N. Indrasena Reddy seeking the constitution of an inquiry headed by a sitting High Court judge.
The party also paid tribute to DGP Dhankar and several senior CPIM leaders who had passed away recently.
