Two youths were killed and another was critically injured in a road accident on National Highway 108B in Khowai district on Tuesday. The accident took place in the Nagarsardarpara area of Padmabil along the Khowai-Agartala route.
The deceased have been identified as Biswajit Santal, 22, and Biswajit Munda, 24. Both were residents of the Laltilla-Mrittinchhara area of Khowai.
The injured youth has been identified as Tapan Goala, a resident of the Dhalabil-Kargiltila area. He was first taken to Khowai District Hospital. Doctors later referred him to GB Hospital in Agartala after his condition deteriorated.
Three Friends Were Returning Home After Selling Fish
According to local sources, the three youths travelled to Chankhala market under Baijalbari police station on Tuesday afternoon.
They went there to sell fish. The three travelled together on a Pulsar motorcycle bearing registration number TR06E-8668.
After completing their work at the market, they started their journey back home on the same motorcycle.
The accident occurred when they reached the Nagarsardarpara area of Padmabil. A goods vehicle bearing registration number TR01H-0915 was approaching from the opposite direction.
The two vehicles collided head-on.
The impact was severe. All three youths were thrown onto the road.
Biswajit Santal and Biswajit Munda suffered fatal injuries. They died at the spot.
Injured Youth Rescued by Firefighters
