November 10, 2017: A BJP parliamentary team led by Meenakshi Lekhi will arrive at Agartala tomorrow. The visiting team will interact with people and review emerging situation in the State particularly in wake of political violence at several parts of Tripura.
The three-member Parliamentary team of the BJP – Prahlad Patel and Saroj Pandey being the two other members -will take stock of the political and law and order situation of the state during their stay here, said BJP president Biplab Deb.
Some burning issues like that of murder of reporter Santanu Bhaumik, Anwara Choudhury , driver Jiban Debnath apart from political violence are likely to be their area of special interest, according to BJP sources.
Meanwhile, BJP State vice president Subal Bhowmik today accused CPIM for violence that erupted on Thursday in Bishalgarh under Sepahijala district. Addressing a press conference today in Agartala, Bhowmik alleged, the violence erupted in presence of State ICA Minister Bhanu Lal Saha.
Narrating the details of violence, he said, as many as 17 BJP supporters sustained injuries while three of them including a woman supporter are battling for their lives in hospital. He also claimed, CPIM supporters set ablaze six Party office.
Even though there is no report any violence today, tension is palpable in the area. Elaborated security forces have been deployed in the area.
