The Chief Minister made the statement at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) at Porompat. He was addressing a programme organised to inaugurate and launch several projects and lay foundation stones for new initiatives at the government-run medical institute.
CM raises concern over alleged bribery
Khemchand Singh referred to reports of alleged bribery linked to the regularisation of nurses. The issue had also appeared in media reports and led to the registration of an FIR.
The Chief Minister said employees who had demonstrated dedication, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic, should not use unfair means to secure regularisation.
He pointed to the contribution of nurses and other healthcare workers during a period when the health sector faced increased responsibilities. He said the government should consider their legitimate service through a proper process.
The state had appointed more than 200 nurses on a contractual basis as healthcare requirements increased, particularly during the Covid-19 period, he said.
Khemchand Singh urged nurses and other contractual employees to present their service records and contributions before the government through transparent and legitimate channels.
He assured employees that the government would support those who perform their duties with honesty, dedication and dignity. He also said genuine concerns related to regularisation would receive consideration through due process.

He said government departments had followed contractual recruitment for some time because of these limitations. However, he made it clear that employees must not seek regularisation through bribery.

He particularly highlighted their responsibilities during the Covid-19 pandemic. He also praised the Health Department for its efforts to strengthen the state’s healthcare system over the past four months.
The Chief Minister made the remarks while participating in a series of healthcare-related initiatives at JNIMS.
Multiple healthcare projects launched at JNIMS
During the programme, Khemchand Singh inaugurated and launched several projects at the medical institute.
The initiatives included a Multipurpose Gym and an Autoclave Machine at the Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD).
A C-arm Digital R90 Digital Radiology and Fluoroscopy System was also included among the projects.
The programme also featured the launch of the Cardio Hospital Management Information System under e-Gov Foundation. Other initiatives included the JNIMS-EMS (Employee Management System) and SBI Collect.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated a Liquid Medical Oxygen Plant under NESIDS (OTRI).
Nursing college foundation stone laid
Khemchand Singh laid the foundation stone for the College of Nursing at JNIMS. The project comes under NESIDS (OTRI) of the Union Ministry of DoNER.
He also inaugurated or launched the Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment Pharmacy and the Unified Health Portal for health-related services.
Two Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) were also included in the programme.
The units will provide healthcare services to vulnerable and remote populations in Saikul and Jiribam.
Chief Secretary Rajeev Singh Thakur and other officials attended the programme.
