The session linked cleanliness with military discipline, national pride and operational efficiency. It stressed that a clean environment supports both personnel welfare and effective functioning within a military station.
The programme also included interactive sessions on environmental conservation. Soldiers discussed how their daily habits can affect the surrounding environment.
The sessions encouraged troops to use energy efficiently and avoid unnecessary wastage of resources. They also stressed the need to protect local ecosystems.
Hygiene Linked to Military Readiness
The programme also addressed personal health and sanitation. An Army Medical Officer conducted a clinical awareness session on Swachhta.
The session covered personal hygiene, sanitation and cleanliness. It highlighted their importance for maintaining the health and readiness of soldiers.
The Army also familiarised troops with modern waste management practices. The sessions focused on the principles of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Recharge.
Special attention went to reducing plastic waste and recycling organic materials. The programme also highlighted groundwater recharge through rainwater harvesting systems at military stations.
Spear Corps Stresses Environmental Responsibility
An Army official said cleanliness and environmental responsibility can strengthen troop morale, health and operational readiness.
The official said the Spear Corps would continue to lead by example through initiatives under the Swachh Bharat Campaign. The focus remains on protecting ecosystems and maintaining high sanitation standards across its garrisons.
