December 13, 2017: Eyeing on nutritional food basket, Tripura Government has decided to enrich dietary charts and expand availability of generic medicines for in-door patients including Cancer and TB patients. Addressing a press meet today in Agartala Secretariat, the Secretary of Health Department Samarjit Bhowmik said this. He said, diet chart for indoor patients have been enriched and number of generic medicines has also been augmented.
Speaking to media, Bhowmik said, the State Government has decided to add an egg and cornflakes in the diet list while additional egg and 250 ml milk have been included for Cancer and TB affected patients.
Samarjit Bhowmik said, number free generic medicines has been stepped up and total 333 generic medicines are now available to in-door patients free of cost. This facility will immensely benefit the patients and significantly slash down the cost of treatment, he opined.
Focusing about health infrastructure in the State, Bhowmik said, there are six State hospitals, six district hospitals, 22 Community Health Centre and 106 Primary Health Centres in the State.
