January 13, 2018: Tripura has achieved success in improving health index and position of Tripura, in terms of health index, is much better than rest of India, the Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Sarkar said today while inaugurating the 48th All Tripura Medical Conference (TRIMACON – 2018) organized by Indian Medical Association — Tripura State Branch.
In fact, over the years primary care system in Tripura witnessed remarkable growth with new health care centres in rural areas. Moreover, ASHA and Anganwadi workers also contributed significantly in taking medical care at the doorsteps of rural poor people, State Health Officials said.
In his speech, Sarkar focused on achievement of LF Government in providing health care services, implementation of several central schemes and attaining better health index. However, he lashed out at the Modi-led Central Government on number of issues including proposed Bill of National Medical Commission (NMC).
