February 03,2018: In Tripura, the picture for 60 member assembly polls has become clear on Saturday. Talking to media in Agartala Saturday evening the Chief Electoral Officer of Tripura Sriram Taranikanti said that 297 candidates will be contesting Assembly elections.

On Saturday, Six candidates withdrew their nominations which included five independent candidates and one candidate from Indian National Congress. Earlier, four candidates had withdrawn their nomination papers yesterday.
Meanwhile, senior leaders of different political parties are campaigning in the state. The voting will be held on 18th of this month while counting will take place on 3rd of next month. (AIR News)
