February 03, 2018: Proving the predictions of Exit Polls true, BJP-IPFT alliance is heading towards comfortable majority. At present is well ahead of CPIM candidates in 40 seats while CPIM is leading in 19 seats only. Congress, INPT and Trinamool Congress have failed to make any impact. After a span of 25 years, for the first time, Left Front has been handed over bitter pills of defeat.
Left Front once again, after West Bengal, has failed to form the 8th LF Government.
Most of the Ministers including Chief Minister Manik Sarkar is reportedly trailing behind the BJP candidates. In Sadar sub-division, saffron wave washed away LF as BJP is ileading in all the 14 seats. Deputy speaker of outgoing Assembly Pabitra Kar, Power Minister Manik De and Agri Minister Aghore Debbarma are trailing from Khayerpur, Majilishpur and Asharambari respectively.
Celebration of saffron supporters have begun. Jubilant supporters have already started playing Holi and bursting crackers.
