March 14, 2018: Veteran BJP leader Ratan Chakraborty took oath as the pro-tem speaker today. The Governor Tathagata Roy administered him the oath at Rajbhawan in Agartala. Among others, Chief Minister Biplab Deb and Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarman were present in today’s swearing-in ceremony.

Ratan Chakraborty won from the Khayerpur defeating CPM candidate and former deputy speaker Pabitra Kar.
Swearing-in programme of newly elected MLAs will be held on March 15 and 16 at Tripura State Assembly.
