March 24, 2018: The World Tuberculosis Day (TB) was observed in the State on Saturday. In this connection, the State Health Minister Sudip Roy Barman flagged off a mobile TB detection van at National Health Mission office in Agartala. Calling for participation of citizens and organizations to play lead role to eradicate the disease, Roy Barman said, “In the spirit of this year’s World Tuberculosis Day theme of ‘Wanted: Leaders for a TB-free world’, I urge citizens and organisations to take the lead in the movement to end TB”. On role of the State Government, he said, Govt is working in a mission mode to make Tripura TB-free State.
Meanwhile, MLA Biplab Kumar Ghosh inaugurated a Gomati district level programme held on the occasion of World TB Day and stressed upon forming Panchayat wise team to combat the disease. He also administered oath to participants to make India TB-free Nation by 2025 as per the ‘Prime Minister’s announced policy’.
