March 26, 2018: The Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina is like my mother and I am keen to further strengthen the bond between Tripura and Bangladesh, said the Chief Minister Biplab Deb today. He was speaking at a programme organized to commemorate the 48th Independence Day and National Day of Bangladesh at Rabindra Bhawan today in Agartala.
The Chairman University of Grants Commission of Bangladesh Abdul Mannan and Editor of Dainik Sambad Pradip Datta Bhowmik, among others, also spoke at a seminar organised on the occasion. Assistant High Commission of Bangladesh organized the series of programmes to observe the day.
Speaking on the occasion, Deb recalled his childhood days which he spent in Bangladesh and paid tributes to 30 lakhs martyrs. He reiterated that Tripura Government will maintain cordial bi-lateral relation with Bangladesh.
“I received blessings of Sheikh Hasina even before I got the same from my mother prior to my oath taking programme. During that conversation with Sheikh Hasina, enhancing cordial relation between Bangladesh and Tripura was re-emphasized”, he said.
Other speakers also highlighted several aspect of Bangladesh’s liberation war and Indo-Bangla relationship with special reference to relationship with Tripura and contribution of people of Tripura in Bangla’s struggle for Independence.
