July 20, 2018: The Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today inaugurated week-long State’s traditional Puja – Kharchi Festival at Chaturdasi Temple at Old Agartala. Devotees in large number offered puja braving scorching heat. Cutting across the caste-creed barrier, people queued up for long hours to offer puja.
Speaking on the occasion, Biplab Deb said, practicing Dharma along with discharging Rajkariya is important. Since princely era, practicing Dharma has become a usual practice.
Stressing on self-reliance, Biplab Deb said, BJP-led Government is focusing on making the State self-reliant as the State became dependent on Central Government. He mentioned about exports of ‘Queen’ variety pineapple to Dubai. He also said, State will become a business hub for North Eastern States after the bridge on Feni River comes up. The Government is working to create job-opportunities for youths, he said.
