Agartala, January 01, 2019: Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb along with top officials made a surprise visit at secretariat today. Deb, accompanied by principal secretary Kumar Alok and other senior officials, visited different section of the secretariat and inquired about maintaining cleanliness in the offices. Whatever he found a deterrent to cleanliness, he directed the officials to take prompt actions and ensure cleanliness.
The Chief Minister started his sudden secretariat visit with inspection of Kumar Alok’s office room. Then, he moved to office rooms of his OSD Sanjoy Mishra and Joyraj Pandiya. In all the three cases, Deb expressed his satisfaction at prevailing cleanliness.
The chief minister also inspected the security system at the main entrance. According to reports, there are discontents among people regarding tight security in secretariat – visitors are allegedly harassed by law enforcing agencies.
Deb directed the concerned officials to allow willing people to enter secretariat who produce identity cards – people with identity cards should not be harassed. He also said that now anybody can seek appointment from ministers and officials in secretariat through on line system. He also directed officials to digitize the information of visitors.
After seeing office rooms inside, chief minister also had a look outside secretariat building. He gave some direction on parking facilities and stressed on maintaining cleanliness in the secretariat.
Turning his focus to the eastern side of the secretariat, he directed officials to enhance beauty of visible area. He also visited all the offices of general administration and secretariat administration and directed the concerned officials to ensure cleanliness in respective departments.
