Agartala, February 25, 2019: Once again Deputy Chief Minister, also holding Finance portfolio Jishnu Dev Varma presented a ‘tax free’ and ‘deficit free’ Budget for 2019-2020 with estimated Gross Borrowing of Rs 2430.00 Crore.
Tabling his second Budget in State Assembly today, Jishnu Dev Varma pegged Total Expenditure for 2019-20 at Rs 17530.46 crore. Out of this Total Revenue expenditure was estimated to be Rs 14061.32 crore and Capital Expenditure was projected to be Rs 3469.14 crore.
The Budget estimates of 2018-19 projected Total Expenditure at Rs 16387.21 crore with a Revenue Expenditure of Rs 13108.97 crore and Capital Expenditure of Rs 3278.24 crore.
Pensions under Social schemes hiked.
In his speech, Jishnu Dev Varman said, Own Tax Revenue witnessed a 14.43 per cent hike compared to last year and proposed to be at Rs 2048.95 cr in 2019-20. Non-Tax Revenue pegged at Rs Non-tax rev 285.21 crore. Total Receipts from Centre (including Share of Central Taxes and Grant) have been projected at Rs 12764.30 crore as against Rs 12506.18 crore in Budget estimates for 2018-19.
