Agartala, April 03, 2019: Implementation of ‘NYAY’ and cancelling Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) are the two prime objectives of Congress. Congress nominee from East Parliamentary Constituency Pragya Deb Burman has reiterated that fight against the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) is focal point of ensuing Lok Sabha Polls.
“The CAB has cast uncertainty for indigenous community. The Bill has posed serious threat to life and cultural traditions of Indigenous people – our fight is against the implementation of the Bill”, Pragya Deb Burman said while addressing an election rally at Halahali under Kamalpur today. She also asserted, “I will work to ensure proper implementation of Rahul gandhi’s ‘NYAY’ scheme for BPL people, if I win from the East seat.”
Lashing out the BJP, Pragya Deb Burman said, the Bill seeks to grant citizenship to illegal immigrants based on religious beliefs – this will affect demography of North East and all the communities of the region will face tough situation. “In fact the Government seems to be functioning without any clear cut purposes. Frustration among the people is palpable and many people are joining Congress. Due to increasing disenchantment, people are looking for a change in favour of Congress”, she asserted.
