Agartala, April 20, 2019: Controversies pertaining to first phase LS polling on April 11 last seems to be deepening as Commission’s web-cam scrutiny has come under scanner and both the CPIM and Congress demanded to repeat the scrutiny.
The web-cam scrutiny was carried out on April 12 and April 13. However, Congress and CPIM accused the State Election Commission of giving misleading facts.
In two separate press meets, Congress leaders claimed, the scrutiny was done in absence of any representative from the Party, but the State Election Commission reported opposite which was false.
“As the Congress delegates from Tripura met ECI, it was came to light and was verified that no Congress representatives were present during scrutiny, however it was reported otherwise. Congress sources said, ECI assured them to look into the matter.
In almost similar line of argument CPIM also pointed fingers at scrutiny and demanded second round scrutiny in presence of representatives of all the parties.
