Agartala, May 31, 2019: In a big and significant move, the Health and Family Welfare Minister, Sudip Roy Barman of BJP-IPFT government in Tripura has been dropped from the ministry and Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb will now look after the Health Department.
“Sudip Roy Barman ceases to be a member of the council of ministers”, said a notification issued by the department of GA (Confidential and Cabinet) and signed by the Additional Chief Secretary Kumar Alok on late Friday night.
According to the notification, charges of Health and Family Welfare, Industry and Commerce (Information Technology), PWD (Drinking Water and Sanitation Department) – which were with Barman – will now be taken care of by the Chief Minister himself.
Barman’s another department, Science, Technology and Environment, was allocated to Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma.
The Governor of Tripura Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki acted on the advice of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, the notification said.
