Agartala, Jun 18, 2019: Chess wonder kid from Tripura, Arshiya Das is all set to become a ‘brand ambassador’ of OTPC. Moreover, bringing a relief of financial constraints, the OTPC has decided to meet her annual expenditures. The decision was taken following Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb’s intervention. Official sources said, Arshiya’s parents was facing problems in meeting the expenditures required for her participation in international championships. They detailed the problem to Chief Minister recently. The Chief Minister then took up the issue with OTPC for necessary steps. Finally, the OTPC agreed to meet all expenditures of the Chess prodigy.
Meanwhile, Arshiya – currently U-9 National Chess Champion – left for Delhi today to participate in the Asian School Chess Championship in Uzbekistan.
