This unique move by Purvaudaya is the first of its kind in the country. This initiative has enhanced image of Tripura at the national level as well as will empower the poor people. Under the Heart and Humanity project, Purvaudaya has set up three outlets from where people of underprivileged section would be able to collect essentials like food, cloth, study materials, toys etc.

Importantly, this is not an one day programme rather these outlets will remain open all time so that both the donors and beneficiaries can access it accordingly – the uniqueness lies here, one the Office bearers said this.

The first outlet was inaugurated in Shankar Chowmuhani by Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb. Other dignitaries present there included Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath, City Mayor Prafullajit Sinha, TRTC Chairman Deepak Majumder, Purvaudaya President Alka Sinha and Secretary Niti Deb.

In his inaugural speech, Biplab Kumar Deb hailed the effort of “Purvaudaya” for making a remarkable move to help people. He said, ‘Heart of Humanity’ is a unique initiative – such unique things are happening in Tripura as the State is transiting into a new path of development and welfare of the society.

“This initiative of Purvaudaya will help in further transforming the image of the state”, Deb commented.

Explaining the project, secretary of Purvaudaya Niti Deb said, this initiative will provide needy people with essential items for free. It acts as a platform in which both NGOs and common people can donate things such as food products, cooking essentials, clothing, etc by placing those in the outlets – and these donated items can be collected by any underprivileged person in need of that item free of cost.  Identity of both the donor and beneficiary would be kept secret.

Niti Deb also said, “Let us keep the ‘Heart’ beating, as heart beats imply flow of life and it gives us energy to sustain,’ she said and hoped that this unique charity works would empower the needy people.

Other dignitaries present in the program also lauded the extraordinary project undertaken by the team of Purvaudaya and also urged the citizens of the state to come forward with a helping hand to run ‘Heart of Humanity’ successfully.

Notably, the secretary of Sanhati Club has taken the responsibility of managing the outlet at Shankar Choumuhani.

Another outlet of “Heart of Humanity” was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma in GB Bazaar area. He said, “It is beautiful that via this initiative, people can donate selflessly without any publicity – this is the truest form of donation.”

He further added that it is not possible to provide welfare to people only via the government or politics as welfare is above them both and thanked the people who started and sponsored this initiative for catering needs of underprivileged people.

Among others, Agri and Tourism Minister Pranajit Singha Roy and AMC Commissioner Shailesh Kumar Yadav were present in the programme.

Revenue and Fisheries Minister Narendra Chandra inaugurated the third outlet of ‘Heart of Humanity’ at Radhanagar Bus Stand. The inaugural function was attended, among others, by State Urban Development Secretary Kiran Gitte, Purvaudaya President Alka Sinha, Purvaudaya Secretary Niti Dev, and other members of Purvaudaya.

In all the three outlets, dignitaries handed over several items to people as part of inaugural programme.
