Mega symptom tracing drive for the Covid 19 of the State government will begin in Tripura from Monday. In this symptom tracing drive, health professionals with the help of ASHA and AWC workers will visit every household to trace Covid 19 symptoms.
Sources said, already several rounds of meetings have been convened to discuss as to how the programme will be implemented and accordingly, all the preparatory steps have been completed to kick start the survey in all the eight districts of the state at one time.
A highly placed source in the health department said, at least 10 to 12 thousand people have been pressed into the action to conduct the drive. A team of four members comprising ASHA, AWC and MPW staff has been designated to conduct the drive in each of the areas. Each of the team will cover 30 to 40 households throughout the day.
The ground level teams, he said, will directly report to supervising officers. The supervising officers will report to the district level officers engaged on the job on special duty.
Sources also added, a one-time incentive of Rs 1,000 will be provided to each of the workers engaged in the job.
Detailing further on the mode of survey, sources said, the mode is simple, each of the teams will visit all the households that fall under their jurisdiction and record Covid 19 related symptoms. For example, the team will ascertain if there are any cases of breathing discomfort, cold or cough etc. in the last 10 days among any members of the family. And if necessary, samples will be collected and tested.
Apart from the 138 PHCs, CHCs and Sub-division and District level hospitals, sample testing facility has also been set up in some sub-centres in Panchayat and Ward offices. A medical officer will be posted at the sub-centres for emergency calls, the source added.
