In its endeavour to intensify battle against coronavirus pandemic, Tripura government has started Truenet testing facility at three district hospitals of North Tripura, Gomati and Dhalai. This will help for fast track detection of Covid 19. The systems have been set up as part of the pan-Tripura survey and the government believes this survey will bring to fore the real situation. State Education Minister and Cabinet spokesperson Ratan Lal Nath said this on Wednesday.
“In Tripura, we have altogether 7 RT-PCR testing facilities with six operating full-fledged. There are proposals to set up similar infrastructure at Gomati district hospital and Tripura Medical College. Apart from that the present stock of Antigen Kits stands at 90,000 and a consignment of 50,000 will shortly be reaching here.
In addition, Truenet testing facilities for speedy and effective results have also been installed at Dhalai, Gomati and North Tripura districts”, Nath told reporters.
The Minister also spoke about the ongoing symptom tracing survey. He said, “The survey teams have already completed visited more than four lakhs household across the State. The survey will give the real picture of the state and help the government chalk out further strategies”.
On Covid19 status, Nath said, total samples collected so far was 1,51,033 out of which 1,49,664 samples were tested and from them 4,288 positive cases were detected Wednesday afternoon. The number of active cases stands at 1,569.
He also claimed that Tripura had done considerably well as far as per million testing was concerned.
“The per million testing rate in Tripura has been recorded 37,438 whereas the national average is 12,8585 and many big states having larger population are way behind of Tripura” he said, although, he admitted the fact the some states were still ahead of Tripura.
On the mass resistance against the survey drive in some hamlets, he said, a very meagre portion of the population had staged protests against the survey teams. The government had already taken note of the situation and identified those who had tried to disturb the programme.
