Two more COVID19 patients died in Tripura pushing the tally to 23. As per the previous update, there were 21 deaths.
Meanwhile, 253 new positive cases have been detected among 5360 samples tested on Saturday. The figure included one more MLA- Dhananjoy Tripura of IPFT and a media person from a local news channel.
As per the official report, West district registered highest number of new cases. The district-wise count included North Tripura (32), Unakoti (3), Dhalai (11), Khowai (39), West Tripura (101), Sepahijala (19), Gomati (38) and South Tripura (10).
BJP MLA Ramapada Jamatia has won the battle against novel coronavirus. The MLA and his wife have been discharged from Covid Care Centre after their test results came negative on Saturday.
Meanwhile Education minister, in a press conference said, as part of the week-long survey total 8,74,609 houses have been screened in the past six days.
As many as 62,119 houses have been surveyed, 3503 samples collected for antigen tests and 152 among them positive on Saturday alone, according to an official report.
The minister said, total 1,71,592 samples have been tested and 4994 persons have been found positive in the state so far. Meanwhile, 3464 patients have already been discharged from various Covid Care Centres.
On the second day of second phase lockdown, no major incidents reported so far. Public transports remained stalled. While shops and other establishments remained shut, Government Offices worked with reduced manpower. Emergency services were not affected. Markets in Agartala, as usual, witnessed rush during the day.
As the air services were kept out of the ambit of lockdown, special arrangements were made for airport passengers. In this connection a tweet of AAI MBB Airport mentioned, flow of passengers recorded more than 1000 passengers for two consecutive days. Notably, at present six flights are operating.
