Because of the emerging pandemic situation, the North East Development Finance Corporation Limited (NEDFi) has decided to launch ‘NEDFi Haat Showroom’ on a marketplace model to provide entrepreneurs of the North East Region to market their products easily. The Haat is located at Rupnagar in Guwahati. “This facility will be of help for those entrepreneurs who are located away from Guwahati”, in a press statement NEDFi authority said this.
Speaking about this facility, CMD of NEDFi BP Muktieh said, “Marketing has been the biggest challenge for the entrepreneurs of NER and this facility will be of great help to those entrepreneurs who have been affected by the present pandemic situation. Muktieh also focused upon product categories and said, the product categories include handloom and handicraft products, non-perishable food products as well as MSME products”, It is also mentioned that apart from existing entrepreneurs, the SHGs and Co-operatives of NER would be able to avail this facility.
The products will be displayed on a permanent mode and unlike an exhibition; participants need not have to spend on stall rent, travel and accommodation. The participating units will have the liberty to take back their products. Payment will be remitted to the bank account of the respective entrepreneurs immediately on sale of the products.
Muktieh also underlined, through this initiative, NEDFi attempts to encourage the new entrepreneurs too, especially those women groups and individuals who are producing various products at home but do not have a proper marketing platform.
NEDFi has released an advertisement on its website (www.nedfi.com) seeking online application by August 20, 2020, NEDFi authority said.
Notably, NEDFi celebrated its Silver Jubilee on August 9 last. NEDFi has completed an eventful twenty-five years since its establishment in 1995.
