In two separate incidences, two persons in Tripura sustained injuries after altercation over family disputes turned into vicious physical attacks.
In an incident of domestic violence one person was hit with a sharp cutting weapon by his wife and was left critically injured. The incident took place at Chakmaghat under Teliamura Police Station area in Tripura on Tuesday (August 18) evening. The injured person was identified as Abdul Mian (35).
Sources said Abdul and his Parvin Bibi (30) often fight verbal duals. “They quarrel almost every day with each other, even over petty issues. Tuesday was no different. As they were engaged in heated altercation, Adbul’s wife lost her temper and hit her husband Abdul with a machete (Dau) and Abdul sustained serious injuries”, sources close to the family alleged.
Hearing commotion, neighbours of the couple informed Fire Service. Later Fire Service staff rescued and shifted wounded Abdul Mia to local Hospital. However, as his injuries were serious, Abdul was referred to G.B. Hospital in Agartala. Meanwhile police recovered the dao and arrested the accused wife.
In another incident, one person came under assault of his younger brother and brother’s wife. The person also was also serious wounded in the attack. This incident took place at North Sonaichhara area under Belonia sub-division in South Tripura district.
Local sources said, relation between Sadhan Biswas and his younger brother, Madan Biswas became bitter for quite some time owing to family related disputes. On Tuesday, Madan and his wife Putul suddenly attacked and started physically assaulting Sadhan . This left Sadhan seriously wounded. He was taken to Gomati District Hospital with critical injuries. Police swung into action promptly and nabbed Madan Biswas. He will be produced before the Court on Wednesday (August 18).
A section of local people even demanded arrest of wife of Madan – Putul Biswas. However, Police is conducting thorough investigation.
