Tripura State BJP unit rubbished all speculations on dissidence and desertion. Instead, the Party confidently claimed that all the leaders and workers of the party would work together to strengthen the party organization.
“BJP is like a big family. Discontent among its members is nothing serious. We can mend the differences through discussions – however, one is certain that all of us are united”, Tripura BJP spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty said this on Thursday.
He was addressing a press meet relating to the two-day of three BJP central leaders – national general secretary (organization) B.L. Santosh, party’s North East general secretary (organization) Ajay Jamwal and Assam-Tripura unit organizational secretary Phanindranath Sharma. The visit ended today after leaders held series of meetings with leaders of different Morcha and other wings, Ministers, MLAs, MPs and leaders of BJP’s coalition partner IPFT.
As the speculations on growing discontent among some leaders were gaining momentum, the meetings with the Central leaders were crucial. Importance of the meeting more pronounced as the saffron party is gearing up for Municipality polls and Assembly poll in 2023.
However, all the leaders, including the so-called dissent leaders participated in the meetings and expressed their views. This gives the State leaders a chance to present a unified face of the party and on that line, Subrata Chakraborty claimed that all the leaders would attend upcoming 14-day long party programmes to be held to commemorate Shyama Prasad Mukerjee’s death and birth anniversaries.
Chakraborty also said that an e-Training programme would be held for leaders of Morchas as well as for other local to State-level leaders, Ministers, MLAs and MPs. The objective of the e-Training would be to make leaders aware about several developmental initiatives of the Government and create mentality synchronizing the objectives and activities of the saffron Party. This step aims at strengthening party organizations at different levels.
The Central leaders also pondered over different issues and suggested corrective and appropriate measures to stitch the loopholes.
In the end, Chakraborty clearly said that there was no report that any leader of the party would quit and join other parties. Overall, according to Chakraborty all is good in a big family like BJP and everyone of party – older or newer – is a valuable asset of the party.
