Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar strongly pitched for conservation and preservation of other living beings as well as nature for the interest of human beings.
“It is crucial to take care of and protect other living beings along with the protection of human beings. We can sustain only by taking care of nature,” enunciated the Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in his visit to Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary on Friday.
He assured that the state government is taking every necessary step to fight Covid – 19 and said that as it is important to take care of public health in this situation, it is also equally important to look after the health and protection of different living beings, especially the birds and the animals and hence was the purpose of the visit to the sanctuary.
Apart from this, the Chief Minister also inspected if the animals and birds are properly taken care of by the concerned department in the Covid situation. He ordered the forest officials to take care so that the animals and birds do not face any kind of problem including food and other facilities.
Biplab Kumar Deb looked around the sanctuary and enquired about the habitats of hippopotamus, lion, spectacled monkey, advanced species of monkeys and other animals.
The Chief Minister during his visit also set free 2 wild cat leopard and one cat species cub amidst the sanctuary rescued by the forest rangers . Afterwards, he planted a Bakul flower plant sapling.
After the visit, Deb expressed his satisfaction on the management and ordered to take proper care of the sanctuary and its inmates.
During the visit, others accompanying the Chief Minister were Principal Secretary J.K Sinha, Principal Chief Forest Conservator D .K Sharma, Sepahijala DM Biswasree B and other officials.
