An Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme under the Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana started from Friday. Agriculture Minister, Pranajit Singha Roy inaugurated the programme at Gunapada Jamatia Memorial Hall in Killa RD Block under Gomati District.
Among others, Industries and Commerce Minister Mever Kumar Jamatia, MLAs Rampada Jamatia and Krishnadhan Das and Managing Director of TRPC P Rao were present in the inauguration programme.
The training programme will continue impart trainings for six weeks to make indigenous people self-reliant.
The programme aims at harnessing the entrepreneurial capacity as well as improving Skills of the indigenous people and ensuring a sustainable livelihood. Moreover, the programme is also important in the sense that it will focus on establishing a connection between the markets in urban areas and indigenous entrepreneurs.
This will help to access different markets and sell the products. The process will in turn strengthen rural economy and create an Atma Nirbhar Tripura – Atma Nirbhar Bharat.
Speaking about the programme, Pranajit Singha Roy said, Van Dhan Yaojana is a program adopted by the Hon’ble Prime Minister whose main objective is to improve the quality of life of the tribes by using forest resources”.
In a post, Singha Roy said, “The trainings Skill Development will be imparted through 29 Van Dhan Vikas clusters in all the 8 districts of Tripura”.
