Even as Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb’s roaring against the Opposition Parties in Rajnagar under South Tripura on Sunday hit news headlines, his comforting gesture and kind words to a little girl at a village under Belonia instantly connected him with the common people of the village and beyond.
While returning from Rajnagar after attending a politically significant public rally on Sunday, the Chief Minister noticed a little girl. She looked terribly troubled and disturbed. Sensing her helplessness, Deb stopped his convoy and talked with the girl, Prapti Majumder, a class V student of Baroj Colony in Belonia.
“As I called the little girl, tears started rolling down from her eyes. She looked at me in anticipation and told me that her father, a painter mason by profession, was suffering from critical illness”, Deb wrote in his Facebook post.
The Chief Minister comforted the sobbing little girl and told her about the available Government Health care facilities which might save Prapti’s father Sanjoy Majumder. Deb’s pep talk soon transformed the sobbing girl into a joyful and smiling child.
“As soon as she was informed about the medical treatment facilities available for his ailing father, a bright smile adored her innocent face. May this smile on the face of the girl last forever. May his father recover quickly with the help of the state’s improved health services and the grace of Maa Tripureshwari. I wish her a bright and prosperous future”, Deb mentioned.
Along with his high voltage Public rally at Rajnagar, Deb’s interaction with child became talk of the town. “People are appreciating it and loving it”, commented one of the neighbours of Prapti.
Meanwhile, addressing the rally at Rajnagar, the Chief Minister came down heavily against the Opposition parties.
Training his guns at TMC, Deb said, “The people of Tripura know the goal of the ‘Migratory political party’ as well as those who create a dream of ‘half-roti’. The people in Tripura don’t want half-roti since they know how to live with full-roti by earning it with dignity.”
Deb also slammed the previous LF government and CPM and said, like the Left regime, there is no facility for government jobs (token) in exchange of money; the eligible people are now getting job opportunities without any political color following transparent recruitment policy.
Besides, proper management opened various doors for income generation while an economy is on the making through the rubber sector, he said.
In the rally, as many as 2133 voters from 698 families joined the BJP. The Chief Minister along with other locals welcomed the new entrants.
As part of his Belonia visit, the Chief Minister inaugurated Vivekananda Craft and Cultural Centre at Rajnagar.
Later in the evening, Deb took part in an organizational programme at Mahatma Gandhi Higher Secondary School in his constituency- Banamalipur. He then inaugurated Banamalipur mandal office of BJP.
