The Tripura government along with the people of the State will firmly deal with any conspiracy to disturb peace and defame the State, said ICA minister Sushanta Chowdhury.
“People of different ethnicity, religion and culture are living harmoniously in Tripura for long periods. However, a racket of other State is conspiring to destroy the prevailing brotherhood among the people. The state government will handle such attempts in strong hand,” Chowdhury said in a press conference on Monday.
He said, “in various places of Maharashtra, the minority people recently hit the streets protesting communal incidents of Tripura that never happened.”
On November 11 last, he said, two women journalists- Samriddhi Sakuniya (21) of Odisha and Swarna Jha (24) from New Delhi came to Tripura, they went to Unakoti district and provoked the minority people.
“Samriddhi Sakunia in a tweet shared fake photos and footage and said a mosque was vandalized and set afire. As a result, the minority people across the country took a negative insight on the state government,” he said, adding that the protest in Maharashtra was fallout of such misinformation.
“The two persons, who claimed to be journalists, actually came as agents of a political party and tried to instigate communal violence in the state. Their efforts aimed to tarnish the image of Tripura government before the country and misguide people,” he pointed out.
Chowdhury also alleged that the Trinamool Congress had filed a false affidavit in the Supreme Court.
“As per the affidavit, the TMC apprised the Supreme Court that they had moved the High Court of Tripura but the High Court didn’t conduct hearing. But, the High Court had formed a special bench and conducted hearing on TMC’s petition at the night of October 30 last and granted conditional permission for holding the October 31 rally in front of the Supreme Court,” he told the media.
