CPM Politburo member and Opposition leader of Tripura, Manik Sarkar on Sunday lambasted the ruling saffron party and alleged the BJP is using a terror tactics across the state just ahead of the poll so as to turn the election into farce.
Sarkar was addressing a party gathering at Kailasahar Old Motorstand area in Unakoti District in a poll campaign rally. The rally was organized in support of the CPI-M candidates for the upcoming Civic Body polls.
Sarkar criticized the policies of BJP government both at the centre and state and alleged that people of this state understood and realized that they did a wrong by voting BJP to power in 2018 election.
People of the state are frustrated with the misrule of the BJP government, he alleged.
Manik Sarkar claimed that the victory of Left front in the upcoming municipal poll is certain only if the poll is conducted in a free and fare manner.
In a different programme, CPI-M state general secretary Jitendra Choudhury addressing a poll campaign at Kumarghat sub-division on Sunday urged the voters of municipal council of the state to stand united against the misrule of the BJP and cast vote for CPI-M.
Choudhury raised allegation of deteriorating law and order situation in the state and said the BJP government has throttled the voice of democracy.
There is a need to bring back the Left front in power yet again to normalize the deteriorated law and order situation so that people of this state are rescued from getting their voice throttled, Choudhury said.
The opposition CPI-M party had intensified its poll campaign across the state ahead of the poll to the civic bodies of the state slated to be held on November 25.
