The health care sector of Tripura made twin achievement in terms of Covid Vaccination and Quality recently.

While the State was celebrating Christmas on Saturday, villagers and health workers of Kalachara Block and Kadamtala block in North Tripura scripted a tremendous success in the battle against Covid Pandemic.

With the co-operation of the villagers and dedication of the Health personnel including the ASHA workers, all the Gram Panchayats and ADC villages have come under 100 per cent Covid vaccination coverage. Kadamtala Block of the same district achieved 100 percent vaccination. Residents of both blocks have got both doses of Covid vaccine.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb hailed the achievement. In a Facebook post, Deb wrote, “All 36 GP & ADC of Kalachara Block achieves 100 percent vaccination against COVID. Congratulations to all concerned healthcare staff & authorities on this achievement. Much gratitude to hon PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji for providing all the logistical support from the centre govt.”

Difficult terrain in many parts of the State is one of the most stumble blocks that the health workers are facing in Tripura – scattered settlements in remote Janajati dominated hamlets is also posing a challenge before the health workers.

However, braving all the difficulties, the Health workers are reaching to households to vaccinate the eligible persons – in this endeavour, ASHA workers are playing a laudable role, sources in NHM of Tripura said.

According to Cowin data, a total of 46,81,679 vaccinations have been done till date.
