The Government is committed to support the farmers through different schemes and the introduction of new agri-technology, said Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Pranajit Singha Roy.

 

The Minister inaugurated the 26th Krishak Bandhu Centre at Jumerdhepa under Nalchar in Sepahijala in Tripura on Wednesday.

 

Among others, Director of Horticulture Saradindu Das and Sepahijala Zila Parishad Sabhadhipati Supriya Das Dutta were present in the programme.

 

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is aiming to strengthen the agricultural sector – several initiatives were taken to double the farmers’ earnings. The State government is also working in the same direction, Singha Roy said.

 

“The State Government is working to introduce new agri-techniques to augment the production. Besides, the government is also ensuring that farmers get the fair prices for the crops as well as doubling farmers’ earning by 2022”, the Minister said.

 

 He pointed out that crops produced in the State have good demand in Middle East countries. Singha Roy also mentioned a total of 9 lakh 9 thousand farmers were benefitted from the Fasal Bima Yojana. Moreover, the vegetable growers, as well as flower and fruit growers, will be brought under the Fasal Bima Yojana.

 

Later, the Agriculture Minister inspected an agri-facility relating to MSP for Aman Paddy at Bairagi Bazar in Nalchar.
