In his own style, Tripura Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath encouraged the college students to take up challenges for learning during a Fresher’s Welcome programme of Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) College in Agartala on Wednesday.

 

Among other Principal of the College Dr Dipannita Chakraborty along with other dignitaries was present in the programme.

 

To boost up the confidence of students and ignite the zeal, Nath referred to Swami Vivekananda and said “All power is within you. You can do everything and anything. He also quoted Nelson Mandela to explain the power of education.

 

“Taking into all these sayings of the wise persons, the State Government has accorded the highest priority to the education.  

 

Upholding the importance of quality education, Nath asked the students of Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) College in Agartala as to when the College was set up. Couple of hands was raised but they could mention only the year – but not the exact date and month.

 

In reply, Ratan Lal Nath hailed the students who accepted the challenge and tried to answer. “You have to make attempt, do not try to evade. If you attempt but fail, teachers will guide you – and this is quality education”, he said.

 

Pointing out that the MBB College carries a significant historical background, the government is constantly monitoring it to uphold the heritage and march forward, Nath said. Dwipanita Chakraborty principal of MBB and others

 

Later Nath wrote on Facebook that he was glad to see the enthusiastic young faces, the upcoming architects of the future of our state.

 

Nath, a former student of the college, welcomed the students and hoped to see their humanitarian contribution towards the society.

 

Earlier on Tuesday, he visited the premises of MBB College along with Director Higher Education, CEO Agartala Smart City, Principal of MBB College and other officials to check for the maintenance and beautification of the college.
