The 73rd Republic Day has been observed in Tripura with due dignity and zeal on Wednesday. Several programmes were held across the State as part of the celebration of the R-Day.
The main programme was organized at the Assam Riffles Maidan in Agartala. Governor of Tripura Satyadeo Narain Arya unfurled the National Flag and inspected guard of Honor.
Jawans of BSF, Assam Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force, 1st and 2nd Battalion of TSR, male and women Police of West District, Traffic Police, Forest Platoons and Home guards (male). Commandant of TSR 2nd Battalion, Pinaki Samanta led the parade.
Among others, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Cooperative department Minister Ramprasad Pal, Chief Secretary of the State Kumar Alok and other dignitaries were present in the programme.
The Governor handed over the awards to Police personnel who were conferred upon Police medals for meritorious service in 2020. The recipients were Sankar Debnath (IPS), Santosh Shil (Inspector), Dulal Chandra Datta (Inspector), Birendra Debbarma (SI), Nilkamal Sinha (Habildar) and Asim Datta (Habildar).
On the occasion of 2022 Republic Day, seven Police Officers from Tripura received President’s medal in different categories. DEBAJIT BHATTACHARJEE, INSPECTOR OF POLICE, AGARTALA, TRIPURA has been awarded the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service. Six other Tripura Police personnel have been awarded President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service:
The awardees are : Thakur Chan Das, Subedar, Khowai, Madhabi Das, WSI, Dhalai district, Sanchita Nath, WSI, Dharmanagar, Samar Murasingh, Havilder, Santirbazar, Purnima Debbarma, Naik, Gokulnagar, Arpana Rani Das, Women Constable, North Tripura.
Besides, the Governor also handed over the best Padmabil Forest Range award to the Padmabil Forest Range and the second best award to the Abhaya Wild Life Range.
In his R-Day speech, Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya mentioned inauguration of new terminal bhawan of the Agartala MBB Airport by the Prime Minister, launching of Mission 100 Vidyajyoti and Mukhyamantri Gram Samridhi Yojana and said the Tripura Government is working hard in making Tripura a prosperous model State.
National Flags were unfurled in all Government department Offices. Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb unfurled the National Flag at his official residence. Speaker of the State Assembly, Ratan Chakraborty unfurled the National Flag at the Assembly premises while Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath in the Secretariat.
Earlier, Ratan Lal Nath offered tributes to the martyrs at the Gandhighat and Albert Ekka Park in Agartala today.
The Republic Day was observed in TTAADC headquarters at Khumulwng as well as in all the districts and sub-divisions.
