The BJP-led Tripura Government will recruit for 1269 posts under the Education department as well as Fire and Emergency Services department. Besides, the Government has also hiked ration money for Police and TSR jawans as well as increased retirement age for TSR personnel to 60 years.
Speaking about the decisions taken in meeting of the council of Ministers on Wednesday, Information and Cultural Affairs Minister, Sushanta Chowdhury said, the state cabinet on Wednesday cleared recruitment of total 940 teachers, 304 firemen and 25 drivers, said.
The Minister said, the state government decided to recruit a total of 340 Graduate and Post Graduate teachers of which 230 are the Graduate teachers and 110 Post Graduate Teachers. The Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT) would conduct the selection process.
He said, the cabinet also gave its nod to another proposal for recruitment of 600 teachers at the elementary level under the Education department.
The cabinet decisions also included recruitment of 304 firemen and 25 drivers under the Fire and Emergency Services department, Chowdhury told the reporters.
On other cabinet decisions, Sushanta Chowdhury announced that the cabinet also approved a proposal for increasing the ration money of TSR/ Police personnel under the Home department.
As the ration money would now increase from Rs. 800 to Rs. 1000, it would cost Rs. 4,31,64,800 to the government exchequer per month. The police personnel up to Inspector rank and TSR personnel up to Suvedar would get the benefit, he added.
Besides, the cabinet also approved a hike in the retirement age of TSR jawans from 57 to 60 years. It would cost Rs. 53,44,45,046 per year.
In another important decision, the council of ministers decided that waive stamp duty in case of loans for Self Help Groups up to Rs. 10 lakh.
