Pijush Debnath, a Class-XI student of Dalugaon Higher Secondary School in Kailashahar, is on cloud nine as Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb sent him study materials based on an appeal made through social media.
The schoolboy, who hails from a farmer’s family, secured 82 per cent in Madhyamik examinations last year. He recently made an appeal to the Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb that he was facing hardships in continuing his study following financial reasons.
Based on the appeal, the Chief Minister collected details of the schoolboy and passed an instruction to the Unakoti district committee of Vivekananda Vichar Mancha to look into the matter. As instructed by Deb, a delegation of the social organization visited Dalugaon village and verified the details.
Pijush’s father is a farmer by profession and the family falls under ad-hoc BPL category. His elder sister is studying Sanskrit (Hons) at Kailashahar College.
The meritorious student wants to study Law in future but his family is unable to bear the expenses for the preparations of Law Entrance.
On behalf of the Chief Minister, the Vivekananda Vichar Mancha now stood by the side of the school boy so that he could chase his dream. The members of the organization on Sunday brought smiles to the schoolboy as they handed over relevant books and other study materials on Sunday.
Besides, the organization also assured Pijush of taking responsibility for his studies.
