Amidst religious fervor Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated across Tripura on Tuesday along with other parts of the country. The Festival marked the culmination of the fasting month of Ramzan. Enthusiasm among the devotees was noticeable as it was the first Eid festival after relaxation of restrictions imposed due to Covid Pandemic.

Dressed in their best, people belonging to the Muslim community offered Eid prayers in Eidgahs and mosques on this occasion. They greeted each other and exchanged greetings with people of other faiths.

Tripura Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya and Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb extended their greeting to the citizens of the state on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Special Eid prayer was held at Gendu Mia Mosque in Agartala today. Braving rains, a large number of Muslim devotees offered prayers there. Imam of the Town Jame Mosque conducted the prayer. The devotees prayed for the welfare and prosperity of the State and the country as well as for world-wide peace.

Several organizations distributed fruits and sweets among the people of the state on the occasion.

As per the traditions and religious fervor, Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated at Unakoti District headquarters, Kailashahar today. Special prayers were conducted at Tilabazar Eidgah ground, Kailashahar Bazar Jame Mosque ground and Jamia Islamia Madrassa ground at Babur Bazar.

Even as it was drizzling in the morning, devotees in Boxanagar under Sepahijala district gathered in front of mosques in numbers and took part in special prayers. As the sense of brotherhood was in the air, people greeted each. At many places, fairs were also held in which people of all religions took part.

Special prayers were held in Sonamura and other parts of the State.
