Administrative reshuffle in Tripura

In a major administrative reshuffle, the state government has transferred 64 Tripura Civil Service (TCS) officers including nine Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) and 13 Block Development Officers (BDOs).

Two transfer orders comprising the 64 TCS officers were issued by the state government with immediate effect on Wednesday last.

As per the notification, the state government transferred the SDMs of nine sub-divisions: Udaipur, Bishalgarh, Mohanpur, Khowai, Amarpur, Jampuijala, Sabroom, Belonia and Sonamura.

Crematoriums, cemeteries to be renovated: Mayor

The BJP-led Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has accorded importance in improving conditions of grave yeards and crematoriums in the city. As part of the initiative, mayor of AMC, Dipak Majumder visited the crematorium of Indranagar. Later, he said that infrastructure facilities of the crematorium would be developed.

He interacted with the local people and said, several infrastructures including drinking water and electricity facilities will be developed. Majumder also said that there are memories of cremation of the royal family members and steps will be taken to preserve those. Besides, various development works including Natmandir will be done.

During his visit, Majumder was accompanied by AMC Commissioner Dr Shailesh Kumar Yadav and others.

Recently the mayor visited a graveyard also and initiated actions for it development.

Majumder said, apart from beautification of Agartala under the ‘Smart City Mission’, the AMC is working for improvement of crematoriums and cemeteries in Agartala.

Teacher transferred: students hold protest

Students of Tuimadhu High School under Mungiakami Block of Khowai district on Friday locked he main gate of the school protesting against the transfer of an English teacher.

It is learned that the teacher- Snigdha Hrangkhawl was transferred recently. She was the only English subject teacher of the school under the Mungiakami school inspector.

Irked over the initiative, the students of the school locked the main gate of the school and demanded to revoke the transfer order.
