By-elections in Tripura: LF candidates completes nomination

The Left front candidates of four assembly constituencies for the ensuing by-elections in Tripura had completed filing of their nomination papers on Friday.
Tripura will go for by-elections for 6-Agartala assembly constituency, 8-Town Bordowali assembly constituency, 46-Surma (SC) assembly constituency and 57-Jubarajnagar assembly constituency on June 23 and counting of votes will be held on June 26.
After the Left front candidate Anjan Das from CPI-M for 46-Surma (SC) assembly constituency had submitted nomination papers on June 1 last, the three other candidates – Krishna Majumder form the CPI-M party for 6-Agartala assembly constituency, Raghunath Sarkar from All India Forward Bloc for 8-Town Bordowali assembly constituency and Shailendra Chandra Nath from the CPI-M party for the 57-Jubarajnagar assembly constituency on Friday submitted their nomination papers.
A large number of the CPI-M workers and supporters led by the party leaders Pabitra Kar, Shankar Prasad Dutta and others on Friday joined a rally here at Agartala to accompany the candidates for filing the nomination papers. Candidate Krishna Majumder 6-Agartala assembly constituency filed the nomination paper to the Returning Officer Sailesh Kumar Yadav, Raghunath Sarkar from All India Forward Bloc for 8-Town Bordowali assembly constituency filed his nomination paper to the Sadar District Magistrate and Shailendra Chandra Nath of the 57-Jubarajnagar assembly constituency had filed his nomination paper to the Dharmanagar SDM on Friday.
After filing the nomination papers on Friday, the candidates expressed their confidence of sweeping the by-elections. 
Soon after the declaration of the by-elections by the Election Commission of India (ECI), the Left Front, led by the CPI-M was the first political party in the state to declare the candidates on May 30 last for the ensuing election.
The last date of the submission of the nomination papers for the by-elections to four assembly constituencies is scheduled to be on June 6 and the last date of withdrawal of candidatures will be on June 9.
