The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates submitted nomination papers for June 23 bypolls in Tripura in all of the four Assembly Constituencies on Monday – the last day for nomination submission.
BJP candidates for 8-Bardowali AC Dr Manik Saha – the incumbent chief minister of Tripura and 6 Agartala AC Dr Ashok Sinha submitted nomination papers in Agartala today.
Accompanying Dr Manik Saha, Former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and his wife Niti Deb, BJP Prabhari of Tripura Vinod and leaders participated in a rally and were in attendance during the nomination papers submission by Dr Saha.
Prior to the rally, Dr Saha offered puja in city temples in the morning.
Another rally started from Radhanagar in Agartala in support of Dr Ashok Sinha. Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Devvarma, ICA minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Janajati Welfare Minister Rampada Jamatia and other leaders accompanied Dr Sinha in the rally and nomination submission.
After submitting nomination papers, Dr Manik Saha along with Biplab Kumar Deb went to accompany BJP nominated candidate for 57- Jubarajnagar AC Malina Debnath. Deputy Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen and other leaders were also present during nomination submission by Debnath.
Swapna Das Paul who is contesting the June 23 bypolls in Tripura on the BJP ticket from 46- Surma AC also submitted nomination papers in Kamalpur today.
Tripura MP Rebati Tripura, Agriculture Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Industry Minister Manoj Kanti Deb and others were in attendance during a rally in support of Paul followed by the nomination submission
