The Youth Wing of Jampui Hill Mizo Convention conducted its first-ever two-day general conference at Hmunpui Village of Jampui Hill. The conference started on June 9 and ended on Friday (June 10).
Youth members of the organisation from within Jampui Hill and other parts of Tripura gathered in hundreds and took part in various activities including songs and dances, cultural extravaganza, theme-based seminars and workshops.
The conference also hosted leaders of other like-minded organisations such as Mizo People Convention (MPC) from Manipur, Zo Reunification Organisation (ZORO) from Aizawl and Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP) from Aizawl, who were invited to attend the conference as special guests.
As was evident from the nature of the attendees of the conference, the main theme of the conference stressed a closer integration of a Diaspora of the Chin-Kuki-Mizo tribes living in Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur, Myanmar and Bangladesh.
Dr Vanlalṭanpui, an MLA of the ruling Mizo National Front party of Mizoram, who is also the Chairman of Mizoram Youth Commission, graced the conference as the Chief Guest.
He challenged the youths to come out of their cocoons and comfort zones and start positively accepting the challenges of the day and shine out of it, become relevant to the hi-tech world and take up competitive roles and responsibilities of the present and the future.
