All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) general secretary Abhishek Banerjee will take part in campaigns for party candidates contesting in June 23 by-polls in Tripura. Banerjee will arrive in Agartala on Tuesday (June 14) and take part in a road show.
“Abhishek Banerjee will participate in a mega road show in support of Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidates for ensuing by-polls in the State”, AITC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said in Agartala on Monday.
Ghosh along with others are overseeing the preparation for the road show. The road show will be held in 8-Bordowali Assembly seat from where Tripura Chief Minister and BJP candidate Dr Manik Saha is contesting as well as in 6-Agartala Assembly seat.
Breaking the tradition of conducting rallies highlighting campaign schedule of a star campaigner of a party, TMC took to social media and conventional media to spread the information relating to the programme of Banerjee.
Addressing media from party’s camp office – as TMC has no permanent main Office in Tripura, so far – Kunal Ghosh exuded confidence that the Road show by Abhishek Banerjee would be a grand success and usher a new dawn in the state.
AITC tweet handler read, “It’s time for Tripura to witness immense GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT! It’s time for the people of Tripura to end their HARDSHIPS & WOES! It’s time for Tripura to witness CHANGE! A power-packed day awaits!”
He reiterated TMC is the only party that can lead the state in the path of development. He expressed hope that people would make TMC candidates winners for the sake of development and welfare of common people.
He blamed the ruling party for damaging campaign materials like flags, festoons etc of the Trinamool Congress. Ghosh alleged, although the Election Commission was informed about this, no action was taken.
Ghosh also raised questions about the role of police. He urged the police to take effective legal actions against the miscreants of the ruling party involved in such acts.
