Voting through Postal ballot facilities for voters belonging to 80 years and above age group and Physically Challenged people started, as scheduled, in 6-Agartala and 8-Bordowali Assembly Constituencies under West Tripura District from Friday ( June 17, 2022). time
Mother of Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, Surjabala Saha and other eligible voters availed of the facility and exercised their democratic rights.
For the first time, in Tripura, such a step has been introduced to ensure easy and hassle free voting facility for the 80 years and above people and Divyagajan voters.
Braving heavy downpour, poll personnel visited the house of the beneficiaries who opted to avail of the facility. The voting started from 8 am today and will continue till 5 pm.
Beneficiaries who couldn’t cast votes today, will be able to exercise their voting rights on Saturday (June 18, 2022).
With most of the city inundated after heavy rainfall, poll personnel are facing a tough time.
The heavy shower has also affected poll campaigns in 6-Agartala and 8-Bordowali.
