There is no law and order in Tripura under the incumbent BJP Government as the Opposition party leaders and workers as well as media men and others are being attacked by the BJP activists, alleged Tripura Pradesh Congress president Birjit Sinha at Kailashahar on Wednesday.
He further said, in protest against unabated attacks and support of 11-point demands, three District Committees of the party has decided to observe a Bandh for 24 hours at Kailashahar, Dharmanagar and Ambassa on July 21 next.
Besides, on this day, the Congress activists will hold civil disobedience movement at different places in support of an 11-point charter of demands, Sinha said.
He also elaborated the demand list. These demands included restoring the rule of law in the state, withdrawing the Agnipath project, arresting and punishing miscreants involved in attacks on Congress activists in the last four-and-a-half years, acquiring land for an airport in Kailasahar and Kamalpur Manik Bhandar, to take immediate steps to open an airport, to set up a second railway line from Dharmanagar to Agartala via Khowai, to set up a railway division at Dharmanagar railway station etc.
In addition, the party will also demand a proper investigation into the massive corruption that occurred during the BJP Government, Sinha added.
Sinha claimed that over 10, 000 Congress supporters would hold the agitation at different places in Tripura.
