A clash broke out between the supporters of DYFI-SFI – the youth and students wing of CPIM – and BJP at Telaimura in Tripura on Saturday evening. Total 10 persons including one Women Police personnel and one DIB personnel were injured. Two were shifted to GB Hospital in Agartala with serious injuries, as per the reports available till the report was filed.
The DYFI-SFI activists were conducting a street corner at Karailong Chowmuhani under Telaimura today evening. At that time, rally of BJP supporters was passing by the spot and the clash ensued.
According to the DYFI-SFI leaders, BJP supporters attacked the street corner and six party activists were wounded in the attack.
However, BJP refuted the allegation. Chief Whip and also the local MLA, Kalyani Roy alleged while BJP rally was passing through some from the street corner hurled stones at the BJP activists and BJP put up a resistance.
Both the parties lodged separate complaint with the police.
Meantime, CPIM Politburo leader Manik Sarkar met today the victims of political attacks at Bishalgarh. The attacks were carried out on late Friday night.

Bishalgarh sub-division hit news headlines for BJP-Congress clashes at Routkhola under the sub-division for the last couple of days. As Police are still continuing investigation, a group of bike borne miscreants reportedly attacked and ransacked houses of CPIM activists in Bishalgarh and other areas on late Friday night.
Manik Sarkar, also the Opposition leader along with local MLA Bhanu Lal Saha and local CPIM leaders visited the houses of the victims at Bishalgarh today.
During his visit, Sarkar interacted with the victim families and inquired about the damages.
Later, speaking to the media, Sarkar blamed the ruling party for resorting to violence in the State. He said, there is no reason to think that the situation in other parts of the state is better than Bishalgarh. At present, only BJP can hoist the flags and open party offices – no other political parties can do the same. He also alleged democracy has crumbled in the State and there is no freedom of speech or of individuals.
