Education Minister of Tripura, Ratan Lal Nath on Saturday (November 5) made an appeal through the media to the axed 10323 teachers to withdraw their ‘fast unto death’ agitation. The sacked teachers’ group is holding ‘fast unto death’ agitation in Agartala for the last 16 days.

Addressing the media, the Minister also said a good number of jobs are in the pipeline and the sacked teachers will find a solution to the problems in this. Nath also commented on JRBT-conducted examination (written) results for which job aspirants were holding agitations.
Referring to the axed 10323 teachers, he said a number of jobs including 6067 Special Executives and JRBT are about to come up and the terminated teachers will find a solution.
In view of this, Nath said, “Our government does not believe in protests and I am humbly requesting them to call of their agitation”.
In this connection Nath said, the results of JRBT-conducted examination (written) are likely to be announced within the next 10 to 15 days.
He said, he had discussions with Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha regarding the issue of the axed 10,323 teachers and their agitation on Saturday morning. The Chief Minister said, they should withdraw the protest programme.
The state government is positive towards getting a solution against the 10,323 issue so that they can find a solution to problems and survive, he said.
“I will not go to any commitment but I am hopeful that if not in huge number, many of the 10,323 members will be absorbed in Special Executive and JRBT (Group-C and D) jobs,” Nath told reporters.
The Minister also mentioned about issuance of job offer letters under various department. He said, offer letters have been issued to total 453 persons for various posts under the Elementary Education Department. Among them, 248 were graduate, 196 were under graduate, 4 were for LDC posts and 5 for Group D posts.
He also said, offer letters were issued to 9 persons for Assistant Professor Posts in Tripura Government Law College. Besides, 31 offer letters were issued for the Assistant Professor posts in Government general degree college.
