Students and Youth wings of CPM, Tripura held a rally and public meeting in Teliamura. The meeting was held in support of education and job for all as well as establishing ‘terror-free’ Tripura.
In the meeting, State secretary of West Bengal DYFI, Minakshi Mukherjee flayed the double engine – BJP-led State and Central governments – on multiple issues including alleged deterioration of law and order situation in Tripura.
In a hard hitting speech, Mukherjee alleged BJP government in Tripura has failed to fulfill its pre-poll promises. She listed out several ‘promises’ including that of 10323 axed teachers and slammed the government as the government could not perform as was promised.
Taking a jibe at the ‘double engine government’ and Prati Ghore Sushasan campaign by BJP, she said, BJP is fooling the common people in the name of development – it is actually selling out the national resources at the cheapest rates while under veil of Sushasan in Tripura, BJP has brought a reign of terror where opposition party workers and leaders are being attacked frequently.
Mukherjee continued her verbal tirade and criticized BJP on its economic policies. She also criticized the government over the REGA and other issues.
“The Left Front government brought a smile on the faces of rural unskilled persons by focusing on REGA. However, BJP is curtailing man-days in REGA and rural people are now in dire financial situation”, she alleged.
Prior to the public rally, activists of CPM students and Youth wings – SFI, TSU, DYFI and TYF – held a rally in which activists from different parts of Teliamura sub-division and adjoining areas took part.
In the public meeting 58 voters of 19 families joined the CPM students’ wing and Minakshi Mukherjee welcomed them.
