The ally of BJP-led government in Tripura, IPFT will attend a demonstration to be organized by the National Federation for New States at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi during the winter session of Parliament. Besides, IPFT leaders will also meet All India BJP president JP Nadda in New Delhi within first week of December, said IPFT spokesperson Bidhan Debbarma in Agartala on Tuesday (Nov 15).
Debbarma who was briefing the media after a meeting of IPFT Central Committee said IPFT leaders discussed several organizational issues as well as its core demand – ‘Tipra Land’ in today’s meeting.

“Few months ago, a group of delegates attended the National Federation for New States – a platform of organizations seeking separate States – and as per the decision of the Federation, it was decided a demonstration at Jantar Mantar will be held by the organization during the winter session of Parliament. IPFT will participate in the demonstration”.
Bidhan Debbarma also said a delegation of IPFT will meet JP Nadda by the end of November or in first week of December. He also said they are scheduled to meet the Prime Minister and the Home Minister also.
Altercation between two groups turns violent in Tripura: 6 hurt
Two groups of people violentle clashed with each other, allegedly over an issue of payment of Rs 300, at Churaibari under North Tripura on Tuesday evening.
At least six persons were injured in the clash. After a bitter altercation between one Sowab Uddin and Balai Mian, the former along with few others thrashed Balai Mian and the clash started.
Even as the clash was reportedly centered over a payment of Rs 300, local people alleged the clash was the fallout of bitterness over segun wood smuggling.
